A Day of Ups and Downs

My two year old niece had open heart surgery this morning and apparently came through with flying colors, thank God.

Sadly, my boyfriend’s grandmother passed away last night. Bless her, she was 90 years old.

So it’s been an emotional day to say the least. I won’t be blogging for a while, I leave tomorrow morning to travel to PA to be with my family and probably won’t be back until Sunday.

Enjoy the weekend, hope this weather lasts.

Idol Bracket

Want to have some fun guessing the winner of American Idol? Print out the bracket here. All the kids are doing it.
Closer to Free

Have I mentioned I hate my job? Well, I hate working in general, but there’s nothing I can do about that right now. Thankfully I have an interview next week with Development Resources Inc. I don’t remember what position I applied for, so I need to do some research. I also had a call from someone at Princeton Review, but we’ve been playing phone tag.
Analyze This!

I’m finally feeling better, and it has taken the better part of my day and immersing myself in actual work (God forbid) to snap out of it. Last night my boyfriend, whom I call J.D. online, and I had another round of discussions about “our relationship” which really didn’t help anything but to make us both blue. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy and I love him, but we've been at a sort of crossroads for the past few weeks and sometimes it's been tough.
Not a Day Goes By

That I don't have a serious problem with this blogger site. For a company owned by Google, they sure have some serious issues. Good thing no one pays for this, or they'd quickly be out of business with their unreliability. I just lost an entire (and very good) entry and have to try to recreate it in my anger. Motherf*ckers.
Pimp my Ride

The excitement of the day has been getting 4 new tires on my semi-old Honda in preparation of a trip to PA on Thursday. Somehow Honda, in all of its customer service brilliance, put the wrong tires on my car. I guess they'll be fine, but I was pissed and the famous post-service "customer satisfaction survey" will have an interesting story for corporate headquarters.

Watching and Waiting

This whole Schiavo business just sickens me in so many ways. I just felt the need to say that.
If I Had a Million Dollars

I'd be looking to buy at the soon-to-be-built Condominiums at Carlyle Square. Although if they're really starting at only $300,000 (probably just the mud and sticks elevation) then I could easily sell my place and be able to afford this. Hmmm . . . maybe a call to the realtor is in order.
Monday, Monday

Today's crappy weather well reflects my feelings on having to be back at work. At least it's a short week for me, and plenty of personal items to occupy my time so I don't have to focus on work. Have I mentioned how much I hate my job and having to work?

Working for the Weekend

Made it through another thrilling week at work. Happy Easter to all my loyal blog readers, i.e. none . . .
Just Mahvelous, Dahling

Ever had a brownie from Marvelous Market? Well, you should.
I Win!

The "planting plan" situation from Wednesday has been resolved and money returned. Lawsuit averted!
Quote of the Day

If I'm this tired, do I have to go to work?

Chocolate for Charity

The maker of M&M candies has teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds through the sale of their new "pink & white" M&M candies. For each 8-ounce bag of the special candies sold, the makers of M&M (Masterfoods) will donate 50 cents to the foundation. The next time you want a treat, please pick up a bag (now sold in stores nationwide) - you will be donating to a great cause and satisfying your sweet tooth.
Run Screaming from the Building

Do you define productivity by sitting in an excruciatingly painful 3-hour meeting? Neither do I! Man, I just had to go out walking to clear my head.

Class-Action Lawsuit?

Well, maybe not that dramatic . . . but I received a letter yesterday from a freelance gardener whom I paid $100+ to do a "planting plan" for my backyard. She was supposed to soon start working on the actual "planting" part; however, the letter said she was no longer doing freelance work. So I'm left with a lovely plan and no action . . . not acceptable. I threatened to take her to small claims court if she didn't refund some of my money.
Flocking to the NJ Shore

Well, more like central NJ, but . . . looks like I'll be heading to NJ this holiday weekend with my boyfriend, let's call him JD after his favorite Scrubs character. Trouble's been a-brewing with us for weeks, and I almost ran screaming out of town to a nearby spa for some much-needed R&R. Turns out, we'd both be unhappy with that outcome, so we decided to rebuild things with some together time.
Welcome to my new blog!

I've really done it now. Question is, what to do with it? Lots to learn right now, so don't expect too much!
